MOUNT VERNON – After months of preparation and hard work on their experiments, the St. Vincent de Paul School 6th, 7th and 8th grade students got a chance to show their discoveries to judges February 4th.
The school thanks the judges from Siemens, Ariel and other local industries, alumni, parents and experts from some of the subject areas in town. The St. Vincent de Paul community believes the experience and exposure the students receive from such events are very significant to the students’ education.

Some of the research areas included BioFuels, Freezing, Solar Energy, Insulation, Ash and Plants, Corrosion, Winglets, Water filtration and Hero’s Engine. 18 of the students earned an excellent rating and 28 of the students received a superior rating. Those that received a superior have the opportunity to further their project and compete at the district area science fair in Marion on March 19th.
