Arrests and Charges

Dakota Rhoads, 20, of Marengo was charged at 12:45 a.m. on Thursday with criminal trespassing, theft from a vehicle, and obstructing official business.

Kayla Hinkle, 18, of Mount Vernon was charged just after 5:00 p.m. on Thursday with violating terms of house arrest.

Jordan Hendrix, 21, of Mount Vernon was picked up at 9:15 p.m. on Thursday on an outstanding warrant.

Traffic Citations

Hubert Wells, 35, of Mount Vernon was cited at 11:05 p.m. on Wednesday for improperly starting and backing his vehicle.

Leah Onizchak, 26, of Mount Vernon was cited at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday for failing to assure a clear driving-distance ahead.

Accidents

At 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, Brandi E. Swanson, 24, of Cardington was heading eastbound on W. High Street in her 2005 Toyota Tacoma.  Josephine A. Schwartzentruber, 61, of Mount Vernon was immediately behind Swanson in her 2001 Honda Accord.  Leah Onizchak, 26, of Mount Vernon was immediately behind Schwartzentruber in her 2011 Chevy Traverse.  As they approached Sandusky Street, Onizchak failed to notice that those in front of her had stopped for traffic.  She rear-ended Schwartzentruber’s vehicle, pushing it into the rear of Swanson’s vehicle.  Onizchak was cited for the incident.

Incidents

At 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, a victim reported that her 32” Samsung television had been stolen from her residence.  A suspect was identified.

At 5:05 p.m. on Thursday, a security officer requested an officer to assist with a female patient, in need of treatment, who was attempting to leave Knox Community Hospital.  A toxicology report was provided and an investigation is pending.

At 9:35 p.m. on Thursday, a victim reported that she had been threatened at an apartment on Ridgewood Avenue.  A suspect was identified.
