DANVILLE – Staff Sergeant Shamus Goare of Danville was killed in Afghanistan in June 2005. His legacy was featured on NBC4 TV in Columbus Monday morning by Photojournalist Jon Edwards. Sgt. Goare was 29 when the MH-47 Chinook helicopter he was riding in crashed while ferrying personnel to a battle against militants in Eastern Afghanistan. 15 other servicemen were also killed in the crash.
