Gary Keith Hannahs, 77, of Howard, passed from this life on September 5, 2026, into the arms of Jesus.

Gary was born October 5, 1948, in Zanesville, Ohio.

He graduated from Zanesville High School in 1966. Gary spent four years in the USAF during the Vietnam War. Until his retirement in 2003 he worked for 33 years as manager of Worldwide Shipping for GE Super Abrasives.

In 1966, Gary met Shirley Taylor at vacation Bible school. In 1968 they were married. They have two sons, Steven J. (Susan) Hannahs of Delaware, Oh and Thomas A. (Hollie) Hannahs of Telluride, CO; four wonderful grandchildren: Audrey E. Hannahs of Ashland, OH, Emma K. Hannahs of Columbus, Hadley P. Hannahs and Hayes M. Hannahs of Telluride, CO, a brother, Ted Hannahs of Reynoldsburg; and a sister, Barbara Gifford of Zanesville.

He was preceded in death by his 3-year-old brother, Jimmy, father, Ernest J. Hannahs and mother, Marjorie E. Hannahs.

Gary’s greatest joys in life were spent with his family worshipping, family dinners, holidays, camping, bowling, golfing and trail walking.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Rd. in Mount Vernon. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM. Military Honors will be conducted by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
