COLUMBUS — America 250-Ohio announces the America 250-Ohio Walking Challenge, a month-long community wellness campaign inviting Ohioans of all ages to walk at least 25 miles between Aug. 27 and Sept.
The challenge is a centerpiece of September’s statewide theme, “Ohio Plays: Sports & Wellness,” and is free and open to anyone who wants to participate.
Participants can join anytime during the challenge window and log their miles digitally through the free Pacer app using code AM250OH. Ohioans who complete all 25 miles by Sept. 30 will be able to choose a commemorative prize: a challenge medal, a certificate or a special challenge pin.
“Walking is one of the simplest ways to connect with the people and places around us, and this challenge is our invitation for every Ohioan to get outside and be part of something statewide,” said Todd Kleismit, America 250-Ohio executive director.
“Whether you walk a neighborhood sidewalk, a favorite park trail or one of Ohio’s incredible state parks, every mile counts toward building healthier habits and stronger communities as we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.”
The Walking Challenge officially kicked off on Aug. 27 with an event at Salt Fork State Park.
Those interested in joining the challenge can register at america250-ohio.org/walking-challenge. Download the free Pacer app and create an account.
Join the challenge using code AM250OH.
