MOUNT VERNON – Jason D. Burkhammer, 28, of Mount Vernon was charged just after 3:30 p.m. on Thursday with aggressive menacing, intimidation of a witness, and with telecommunication harassment.

Aaron Thompson, 25, of Mount Vernon was charged at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday with an open container violation.

Carl A. Wells, 32, of Mount Vernon was charged at 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday with domestic violence.  He was then picked up for a parole violation.

Traffic Violations:

Scott O. Smith, 48, of Fredericktown was cited at 1:20 p.m. on Wednesday for driving under a suspended license.

Accidents:

At 4:40 p.m. on Thursday, Kimberly J. McVay, 17, of Mount Vernon,  was traveling eastbound on Oak Street in her 1999 Buick Regal.  Karen J. Rush, 66, of Mount Vernon was traveling southbound on center street in her 1994 Chevy Lumina.  McVay failed to stop at the stop-sign at the intersection of those streets and her vehicle was struck in the side by Rush’s vehicle.   McVay was cited for the incident.

                                                                                                                                                       

Incidents:

Just after 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, an employee of the Central Ohio Farmers Co-op reported that someone had broken into their business on W. Gambier Street and stolen $634.44 in cash from their safe.  A suspect was identified.

At around 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, a victim reported that a man had entered her home on the 700-block of N. Main Street without permission.  A suspect was identified and a Colt Defender Airsoft pistol was collected as evidence.

At 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, a victim reported that she was being harassed.  A suspect was identified and charged.

At 5:50 p.m. on Thursday, an employee of the Children’s Resource Center reported a disturbance.  A suspect was identified.

Just before 6:40 p.m. on Thursday, officers were dispatched to a residence on Sychar Road in response to a disturbance.

At around 6:50 p.m. on Thursday, an officer responded to a victim’s report of harassment via telephone.  A suspect was identified.
