MOUNT VERNON – This year, 16 students were selected to receive the $2,000 Knox Community Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship.
It is presented to Knox County residents with a high school diploma or equivalent, or current high school seniors who are pursuing or plan to pursue an undergraduate degree in the Health Care field.
Applications are screened and selected by the Knox Community Hospital Scholarship Committee. This was the first year the scholarship was in the amount of $2,000.
“Our KCH Auxiliary was very excited to increase the amount from $1,000 to $2,000,” organizers stated. “The KCH Auxiliary is a group of volunteers who raise funds for these scholarships through annual fundraising events held at the hospital and proceeds from sales in the KCH Gift Shops.”
Additionally, this was the 10th year for the Nellie & Lowell Truex Memorial Scholarship.
This award was presented to Viktoria Arnett from Fredericktown High School. Viktoria plans to attend Ohio Northern University in the fall.
