Kenneth L. Fiant, 83 of Gambier passed away on May 23, 2026 at Country Court in Mount Vernon, OH. He was born on November 4, 1942 to Raymond and Marjorie (Lee) Fiant in Morrow County, OH.

Ken was a loving son, father, grandfather, husband, uncle and friend. He was a “jack of all trades” that could fix or build most anything he set his mind to. He was a go getter who believed in the value of a hard day’s work. He began his career as a block mason and transitioned into his own company, Ken Fiant Builders home construction, where he could spotlight his masonry and other building skills. He was especially proud of his brick fireplace work. He later transitioned his business into window replacement which is what he retired from. Ken also enjoyed farming where he mostly raised either beef cattle or sheep.

He was uniquely skilled at and truly enjoyed training hunting dogs and harness racing horses. Hunting was something he was devoted to throughout his lifetime. Ken enjoyed his time in the woods hunting squirrel and raccoon with his dogs that he trained. People often brought their dog to Ken so he could train them to hunt.

Ken was a former member of the Farm Bureau.

Ken’s humor, work ethic and endless singing around the house will be missed.

Ken is survived by his children Kimberly (Paul) Mommessin of Vienna, WV, Kevin (Christina) Fiant of Delaware, OH and Kelly (Courtenay) Biggs of Howard, OH; grandchildren Andrew Mommessin, Ellie Mommessin, Nathan Fiant, Natalie Fiant, Ethan Biggs and Sydney Biggs; siblings Lois Shaffer of Wooster, OH, John (Mary Jo) Fiant of Akron, OH, Bonnie Eggleston of Canton, OH; cousins and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Ken was preceded in death by his wife Carole, brothers Carl Fiant, Paul Fiant and his parents.
