AVON – While also being named the MVNU Student-Athlete of the Week, Brett Vipperman of No. 15 Mount Vernon Nazarene University Men’s Basketball took home the Crossroads League Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
The senior captain from Ashland was instrumental for No. 15 MVNU Men’s Basketball as it began its season in dramatic fashion with a 101-98 double-overtime victory over No. 5 Indiana Tech.
The forward played all but 1 minute and 40 seconds of what was a thrilling matchup and provided a well-rounded stat line of 29 points, 13 rebounds, and a career-high seven assists as he came just three helpers shy of the triple-double.
Vipperman was an efficient 12-of-19 from the floor, and Indiana Tech had no answer for his presence around the interior and effectiveness as a distributor as well.
Vipperman and the Cougars have yet another home game on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 6 p.m. against Kent State University at Tuscarawas.
