MOUNT VERNON – Every year the Dan Emmett Music & Arts Festival showcases the incredible talent of Knox County’s youth. The Dan Emmett Youth Showcase is open to all school-age youth from grades 1 to 12.
Whether you like to sing, dance, play an instrument, or have any other hidden talent that you would like to show to the world, the Youth Showcase is the perfect place to start. Many past performers of the Showcase have gone on to appear as individual performers on stages at the Dan Emmett Festival, throughout central Ohio, and even abroad. Some have gone on to become Knox Idol contestants and winners, and contestants in Ohio Idol.
The Youth Showcase will give you the opportunity to perform Thursday, Friday, and Saturday afternoons during the Dan Emmett Music & Arts Festival, August 7-10, 2014. For more information on how you can participate, contact Susan Kahrl at stkahrl@yahoo.com or (740) 501-4892.
The 2014 Dan Emmett Music & Arts Festival runs August 7-10 in Downtown Mount Vernon with various activities each day. This year’s Festival is made possible through the contributions of Ariel, First-Knox National Bank, and Time Warner Cable.
