MILFORD TOWNSHIP — Law enforcement officials are asking the public to help identify a potential suspect’s vehicle after someone robbed the Milford Township trustee’s building early Monday morning.
“We request the public’s assistance in gathering information pertinent to this case,” a Knox County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post states. Any details, regardless of how insignificant they may initially seem, could significantly aid our investigation.
“Therefore, we urge anyone who observed suspicious activity near the Milford Township Building during the early morning hours of April 14, or who possesses any information that could be relevant, to contact Detective Sgt. Brandon Minot of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division at 740-399-3948. You can remain anonymous with your tip.”
Milford Township Trustee Peter Dickerson said the building was broken into twice – once around 3 a.m. and the other time at 5 a.m. In total, suspects spent roughly 20 minutes stealing supplies and tool equipment, Dickerson said.
He did not disclose or estimate the total cost lost.
Township security cameras show two individuals at the building at 3 a.m. — only one person was visible at 5 a.m.
“You can tell that it wasn’t their first rodeo,” Dickerson said.
Dickerson said getting robbed feels like you’ve been violated.
According to Minot, the case is still under investigation and no suspects have been arrested as of Wednesday afternoon.
