Helen G. Jones, age 90, of Fredericktown, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 2, 1935, in Mansfield, Ohio, the daughter of Charles and Dolores (Keller) Stewart. Helen was a 1953 graduate of Butler High School and worked for 50 years at Dana Corp. in Fredericktown before retiring in 1994.
Helen or mama, as most called her, could be described as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. If not working, mama spent most of her time tending to her children and grandchildren, as she was either hemming, sewing pants, or attending the activities everyone participated in. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Helen is survived by her children, Karen (Keith) Werner of Fredericktown, Karla (Robbie) Stacy of Lebanon, Virginia, Kevin Jones of Fredericktown, Ken (Lisa) Jones of Newark, twenty-two grandchildren, and numerous great and great great grandchildren.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Don T. Jones, two sons, Keith Jones and Kregg Jones, a granddaughter-in-law, Megan Werner, a brother, Royd Stewart, and two sisters, Viola Morningstar and Leola Beck.
Friends may call on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050 where a Celebration of Life will begin at 7 p.m. The family will observe a private graveside service in Bladensburg Cemetery.
