John Michael “Mike” Durbin, age 71, of Howard, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Grant Hospital in Columbus.
He was born on September 8, 1953, in Mount Vernon and was the son to the late John C. and Marjorie (Tschappat) Durbin.
Mike graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1971 and continued his education with Columbus State, Ohio State, and Otterbein College achieving multiple degrees. He passed as a proud employee of Ohio Health where he started nearly 50 years prior.
Mike’s passions included his family, boating, baseball, Buckeyes, and his pursuit of his pilot’s license.
Mike is survived by his four children Amy Saum, Jason (Heidi) Durbin, Jonathan (Lauren) Durbin, Jami (Nick Gordon) Durbin; his seven grandchildren, Ryan, Finn, Wyatt, Wesley, Waylon, Paisley, Quinn; and a brother, Alex (Susan) Durbin; longtime companion Laurie Posekany, and her two daughters Jamie and Allison.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Rd. in Mount Vernon. Where memorial services will follow at 1:00 PM.
