Nancy Carol Harris, age 85, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, formerly of Georgetown, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at her residence. She was born on May 2, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Robert and Mary Lou (Robb) Eddy.
Nancy was an accomplished pianist, competing in major national competitions as well as teaching the instrument she loved to hundreds of students over many decades. Her love of music was a blessing to her family, whom she cherished dearly. She unselfishly gave of herself in many ways, not only to her family, but also to her church, serving as director of music, organist, president of the church women’s group, a leader and example to the young women of the congregation and taught the youngest children the joy of singing. Through her legacy of dedicated service, Nancy demonstrated charity and unconditional love to those around her, leaving a lasting, indelible impact on her family and those who knew her.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Richard V. Harris; children David (Spouse Dorothy), Daniel (Spouse Pam), Deborah (Moore), Anne (Milani-Spouse Paul), Aaron and Andrew (Spouse Jessica); twenty grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and a sibling, Sue Hansen.
Along with her parents, her brother, Roger Eddy, precedes Nancy in death.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints; 1010 Beech Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050, with burial to follow in East View Cemetery in Centerburg, Ohio.
