MOUNT VERNON — The city’s cemetery staff will begin the Fall Clean-Up after Oct. 1.
Residents are asked to remove any spring/summer decorations before Oct. 1.

Residents are encouraged to remember the following:

•The cemetery is not responsible for the maintenance of plantings.

•Limit items/decorations to 5 or less on a grave at a time.

•No plantings/decorations are allowed on the west side of the monument, and all
plantings/decorations should be placed no further than 18” from the
east side.

•No shepherd hooks, wires, mounded flowerbeds, or rigid borders

•No glass, gravel, solar lights, flower pots, benches, or seats

•No trees or plants with thorns

heading. Residents can always call (740) 393-9581 during business hours with any questions.

Please note that any remaining fall/winter decorations picked up as
part of our Spring Clean-up in April will be disposed of on Oct. 1. Additionally, ALL disallowed decorations will be removed in accordance with our rules/regulations.
