DANVILLE — Danville Local School Board of Education approved a five-year lease for Tough Street Stadium at Monday night’s meeting.
Danville Local Schools leases Tough Street Stadium through the village, superintendent Jason Snively said, noting the village doesn’t have plans to sell the stadium to the district.
The lease begins Aug. 1 and runs until July 31, 2029, according to the agreement — it includes $500 a year for insurance and administrative costs. The lease for the stadium will run year-round, according to the pact.
The district is in charge of maintaining the field, paying for operating cost, sewage, electricity, water, waste disposal, service agreements, lawn care, snow removal, repairs, cleaning and custodial, security and insurance.
The district will cover $3,500 in maintenance cost, Snively said. If the bill exceeds $3,500, the village and district will meet to discuss the issues and potential allocation of costs.
In two years the contract can be terminated by either the village or the district.
In total, Snively said the district will spend roughly $10,000 a year at the field.
