MOUNT VERNON – A new place to grab a bite or a cup of coffee downtown is officially open.  Friends, family and Chamber of Commerce ambassadors were on hand for the ribbon cutting at North Main Cafe, 108 N. Main Street Tuesday morning. The cafe is owned by Rachel Miller and Sarah Eash. Sarah’s husband, Laverne said, “We loved the idea of small cafe in a small town.” He described the history of the renovation of the space that took place over 600 days. He also thanked the contractors who worked on the project.

In addition to a variety of coffees, beverages and snacks, the cafe offers breakfast items such as cinnamon swirl pancakes, baked oatmeal and a unique breakfast bowl with hash browns, eggs, sausage and a homemade cream. The lunch menu includes specially seasoned hamburgers made with fresh beef, paninis, wraps, sandwiches and a variety of salads made with homemade dressings.
