Crash Report
Dec. 14
- Brandon Seese and Rhonda Gouin were traveling west on Coshocton Ave. Gouin slowed for traffic and was struck by Seese. Seese was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
- Christopher Zermeno and David L. Hurlow were traveling south on Newark Rd. Hurlow was slowing for stopped traffic. Zermeno attempted to slow but struck Hurlow. Zermeno was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
Dec. 15
- Ronald Baird was stopped on Coshocton Ave. facing west waiting for a vehicle to turn into Marco’s Pizza and was struck by Terry E. Reisinger, also traveling west, in the rear. Reisinger was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
Dec. 17
- Pamela S. Parnell was traveling east on W. Gambier and struck a parked vehicle. She was cited for failure to control/weaving.
Incident Report
Dec. 14
- Officers were dispatched to a Coshocton Ave. business for a possible drunk driver in the drive-thru. Upon arrival, officers identified the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on Coshocton Ave. The vehicle failed to stop and continued to travel east. The driver finally stopped and officers made contact with the driver, Joshua T. Hampton who admitted to drinking alcoholic beverages. He was arrested for OVI and incarcerated at the Knox County Jail. His car was impounded at the police department impound lot.
- Units were dispatched to a disturbance in the area of S. Jefferson St. The investigation determined that Ronald E. Hoeflich struck a male in the face and then fled the scene on foot. Charges for assault were issued for Hoeflich.
- An officer was dispatched to a possible burglary in progress on Shirley Ave. The complainant stated she observed lights turning off in an apartment that was supposed to be vacant. Several deputies from the KCSO also responded. A key to the apartment was obtained from a neighbor and officers entered and cleared the apartment. No one was located and the apartment was secured.
- Officers responded to a W. High St. business in reference to a disturbance. When officers arrived, they found several subjects outside the bar yelling and screaming. Multiple witnesses pointed out two males who were inside causing an issue. The two males continued to cause issues while the officers were on the scene. Mike Rine and John Annett were subsequently arrested for disorderly conduct with persisting and transported to the Knox County Jail.
Dec. 15
- At approximately 10:33 AM, an officer was patrolling near N. Sandusky and Franklin streets and observed an unknown male riding his bicycle without a front or rear light.
- Units were dispatched to E. Ohio Ave. on a report of a burglary in progress. Units were advised someone was in a detached garage when no one should have been in there. The complainant also advised someone was in the garage with a flashlight, looking around. When officers arrived they made contact with a person who was just leaving the garage. The individual was taken into custody and charges were filed.
- The Mount Vernon Fire Department and the Mount Vernon Police Department were dispatched to Sychar Rd. in reference to a structure fire. The complainant stated the hallway was filled with smoke and no one was evacuating the apartments. Upon arrival, the fire department made contact at the apartment where the smoke was coming from. The fire department was there earlier for the same thing and the tenant in that apartment had removed her smoke detector so the alarm would not go off. The fire department evacuated the apartment complex while they investigated the smoke further. The tenant in the apartment where the smoke was coming from was issued a summons for inducing panic.
Dec. 16
- An officer responded to a Coshocton Ave. address on a report of vandalism. A written statement was obtained from the complainant. Photographs were taken of the damage. This investigation has been forwarded to the Knox County Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office for review of charges.
Dec. 17
- An officer arrived at an N. Sandusky St. residence and spoke with the complainant in reference to the theft of a Christmas ornament. A Chicago Bears ornament had been shipped to the complainant and delivered to her front door. When the complainant came home from work, she discovered the package had been ripped open and the ornament removed. At this time there are no suspects. The complainant asked for a report and also wanted officers to be aware of the incident.
- An officer responded to S. Gay St. In reference to a disturbance. When the officers arrived they heard yelling coming from inside the building and made contact with a female. The female was standing at the door of another tenant, yelling, cussing and hitting the door. Earlier in the day, officers had told the female to stay in her apartment and leave the other tenant alone. The female was issued a summons for disorderly conduct.
- At 10:17 PM, an officer arrived at a Howard St. residence and met with the resident who had found a small plastic bag with a white, granular powder she believed was some kind of drug. The resident stated one of her family members who also resides there had a history of drug use. That family member had reportedly left for Columbus on Friday and had not returned. The bag was taken and placed into evidence to be destroyed.
Dec. 18
- Police investigated a trespassing situation on Wooster Rd.
- Units were dispatched to S. Gay St. in reference to a disturbance. Their investigation found Jared Farabaugh threatened several people with a knife, was involved in a physical altercation and broke the neighbor’s door. Farabaugh was transported to Knox Community Hospital for evaluation then arrested for two counts of aggravated menacing. He was then transported to the Knox County Jail.
- A theft was reported at a Coshocton Ave. business. The male subject was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant and was issued a summons for petty theft. He was then transported to the Knox County Jail.

Dec. 14
- Joshua Hampton, 23, Aurora OH, was arrested for OVI. He was cited for driving under the influence, reckless operation on a public street and failure to comply with an order or signal of a policed officer.
- Brandon Seese, 24, Howard, was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
- Christopher Zermeno, 49, Howard, was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
- Cassandra Curran, 26, Fredericktown, was cited for operator or chauffeur license required.
- Jonathan Flack, 45, Columbus Rd. was arrested for possession of drugs. He was also cited for DUS and expired or unlawful license plates.
- Steven Dupuy, Johnson Ave. Was arrested for marijuana paraphernalia.
- Jacob McPeek, 19, Dunham Rd. was arrested and charged with drug abuse.
- Kevin Lester, 52, N. Mulberry St. was cited for failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer.
- Michael Rine, 47, Fredericktown, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct with persisting.
- John Annett, 51, Fredericktown, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct with persisting.
Dec. 15
- Roger Legg, 31, Follin Ave.was charged with drug abuse and possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia.
- Bryan Bird, 32, S. Edgewood Rd. was arrested for disorderly conduct.
- Elias Roman, 27, W. High St. was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
- Terry Reisinger, 60, Ashland, was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
- Eric Woodring, 3e5, N. Main St. was cited for DUS and FRA suspension.
- Rajhona Shock, 39, Sychar Rd. was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
Dec. 16
- Roger Mays, 60, McGibney Rd. was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol and/ or drugs, driving under suspension/revocation, and driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs within 20 years of a previous conviction.
- Adavida Morton, 51, Columbus, was cited for driving under an FRA suspension.
Dec. 17
- Pam Parnell, 70, W. Gambier St. was cited for failure to control/weaving.
- Colelisa Estridge, 33, Columbus, was cited for driving under an FRA suspension and for running a red light.
- Amanda Grubbs, 34, Whereabouts unknown, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
- Christine Dennis, 60, S. Gay St. was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
- Jacqueline Hager, 41, N. Sandusky St. was cited for failure to control/weaving.
Dec. 18
- Tyara Huff, 27, Fredericktown, was arrested for possession of drug abuse instruments and cited for no operators license.
- Stanley Earlywine, 76, Ponce Inlet, FL, was cited for a red light violation.
- Trevor Lewis, 27, Pleasant Valley Rd. was cited for running a stop sign.
- Alyssa Kegley, 18, Ridgewood Ave. was cited for window tint.
- Scott Schaade, 22, E. Burgess St. was arrested for a warrant for probation violation and criminal trespassing.
- Patrick Banks, 30, Sychar Rd. was arrested and charged with theft.
