MOUNT VERNON — Mount Vernon Municipal Court Judge John Thatcher found 23 people guilty after pre-trial hearings in his court earlier this week.

Dec. 10

Judge Thatcher found six people guilty after pre-trial hearings were held at the Mount Vernon Municipal Court on Dec. 10.

Kelsey Kuhn, 47, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Possession of Marijuana Drug Paraphernalia. The Court sentenced him to pay a $50 fine and suspended his operator’s license for six months.

Cody James, 32, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle while Under the Influence. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment within 60 days, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.

Colton Sommers, 19, of Millersburg, was found guilty of going Left of Center. The Court sentenced him to pay a $15 fine.

Clayton Ward, 32, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Disorderly Conduct. The Court sentenced him to pay a $100 fine, serve 30 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed him on two years of probation with the following conditions: complete a drug and alcohol assessment within 60 days and complete the Court’s Hands Down program.

Richard Thompson, 52, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Disorderly Conduct. The Court sentenced him to pay a $100 fine and serve three days in jail.

Ryan Parks, 22, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Disorderly Conduct. The Court sentenced him to serve 30 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed him on two years of probation.

Dec. 11

Judge Thatcher found thirteen guilty after arraignments and hearings were held at the Mount Vernon Municipal Court on Dec. 11, 2018.

Taylor Presti, 21, of North Ridgeville, Ohio, was sentenced after a previous guilty finding of Underage Possession/Consumption of Alcohol. The Court sentenced her to serve three days in jail.

Doug Blanchard, 51, of Danville, was found guilty of Possession of Marijuana. The Court sentenced him to pay a $150 fine.

Cecilia Blanton, 34, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Having an Expired Operator’s License and Expired Plates. The Court sentenced her to pay a $200 fine for her Expired Operator’s License and a $15 fine for the Expired Plates charge.

Joshua Heskett, 26, of Howard, was found guilty of having Fictitious Plates and having an Expired Registration. The Court sentenced him to pay a $150 fine.

Antonio Bolden, 24, of Youngstown, was found guilty of Driving Under a License Forfeiture Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine.

Brittanie Cox, 19, of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension and Failing to Stop for a School Bus. The Court sentenced her to pay a $300 fine for the DUS charge and a $100 fine for Failing to Stop for a School Bus.

John Hays, 45, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under a License Forfeiture Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine.

Joseph Gibson, 32, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under a 12-Point Suspension. The Court sentenced him to serve three days in jail.

Antoine Cole, 38, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine.

Anthony Anderson, 25, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Possession of Marijuana Drug Paraphernalia and a Stop Sign Violation. The Court sentenced him to pay a $25 fine.

Evan Parker, 20, of Lexington, was found guilty of Obstructing Official Business. The Court sentenced him to serve four days in jail.

Cyle Cunningham, 28, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle while Under the Influence. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.

Brain Baker, 34, of Danville, was found guilty of Disorderly Conduct/Persisting. The Court sentenced him to serve 30 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed him on two years of probation.

Director of Law Rob Broeren represented the State of Ohio and the City of Mount Vernon in these cases.

Dec. 12

Judge Thatcher found four guilty after trials were held at the Mount Vernon Municipal Court on Dec. 12.

Dakota Hawk, 21, of Danville, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a $50 fine.

Kayla Gilmore, 25, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of a Stop Sign violation. The Court sentenced her to pay a $15 fine.

Leon Weaver, 19, of Dundee, Ohio, was found guilty of Speeding in a School Zone. The Court sentenced him to pay a $150 fine and serve three days in jail.

David Hong, 38, of Granville, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of a Drug of Abuse, Speeding, and Failing to Drive within Marked Lanes. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended his operator’s license for one year for the OVI charge. He was sentenced to pay a $45 fine for Speeding and a $25 fine for the marked lanes violation.
