MOUNT VERNON — Knox County resident Brittany Mitchem organized a community cleanup for Oct 21 and 22.
The goal was to help make the streets safer for the children during Halloween Trick or Treating festivities.
“I had a really good turnout almost 20 participants from Riverside Recovery’s the men and women’s houses,” Mitchem said. “The probation department recognized it and opened it up for community service hours as well.”
Touchpointe and Food for the Hungry donated to provide lunches for the participants.
