Rene Ann Cummings, age 70, of Mount Vernon passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at her home.
She was born on December 13, 1952, in Columbus, Ohio to the late John and Marylou (Fisher) Geiger Sr. Rene was known for her collection of Wizard of OZ memorabilia. She enjoyed animals of all kinds. But most of all, Rene loved the time she spent with her family and close friends.
She is survived by her husband, of over 55 years, Thomas Cummings; her daughter Alicia (Jim) McClary; her son Thomas (Kim Howard) Cummings; three grandchildren, Ashlie (Zack) Sanders, Julie Kroninger, Jimmy (Kayla) McClary Jr; five great grandchildren; her brother Jim Geiger; her canine companions CC and Sadie; and her feline companion Missy.
In addition to her parents, Rene was preceded in death by her grandson-in-law Brandon Kroninger; and her brothers Bruce Geiger and John Geiger Jr.
Friends may call on Thursday from 11am-1pm at the Snyder Funeral Home – Devore Chapel in Sunbury. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery in Centerburg.
