Betty Aileen Spearman, age 90, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 20, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 29, 1932, in Croton, Ohio, the daughter of Claude and Bessie (Keene) Bostic. Aileen was a 1950 graduate of Centerburg High School and 1951 graduate of the Ohio State School of Cosmetology.
She served many years as a volunteer for Interchurch of Knox County and the Porkettes. Aileen was a member of the Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church, Fredericktown Seniors, Knox County Farm Bureau, Knox County Harness Horsemen Association, and lifetime member of Liberty Grange. She will be most remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to so many.
Aileen is survived by her husband Herbert Spearman whom she married on December 9, 1956, her children; Nina (Mark) Boucher, Mike (Kokie) Spearman, Brad (Linda) Spearman, Phil Spearman, Amy (Cliff) Carpenter and Jill (Cephas) Spearman Macklin; grandchildren, Heath (Erika) Boucher, Quentin “Bo” (Deanna) Boucher, Michael Spearman, Sandra Spearman, Kodie Spearman, Jordan (Katie) Spearman, Adam (Paula) Spearman, Jennifer (Mitch) Householder, Kathryn (Dom) Lee, Laura Spearman, Tori Carpenter, Tayler (David) Streby, Taran (Jacob) Foulk, Jared (Ashlie) McPeek, Matt (Betsy) Carpenter, Marlene (Derrick) Fox, Bryan Macklin, Mia (Jeff) Kelly, Barry Macklin; many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson Travis Boucher and a sister, Rosa Imogene Robertson.
Friends may call on Thursday, April 27, 2023, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Church at Chapel Hill, 7530 Johnstown Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050. A funeral service will be held at the church on Friday, April 28, 2023, beginning at 12 p.m. where friends may call one hour prior. Pastor Thom Fowler will be officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Chapel Cemetery.
