MARION – Week 1 of the 2016 High School Football season is in the books. The Mount Vernon High School Yellow Jackets traveled to Marion to take on the Marion Harding Presidents. It was the first game for the Jackets’ new head coach, Mike Kerr.  The Jackets predominantly ran a ground game, unlike last season.  An interception in the last minute of the fourth quarter deep in the red zone kept the Presidents from another TD and that led to a 22-20 win for the Jackets.

The East Knox Bulldogs-Danville Blue Devils rivalry was played in Howard this year. Danville soundly defeated EK 27-0.

Fredericktown lost to Clear Fork 42-7 in Bellville.

The Centerburg Trojans won last night’s away non-conference game against Utica by a score of 31-19.
