MOUNT VERNON – American Heritage Girls Troop OH0377 and Trail Life USA 0377 gathered together the evening of Tuesday, September 20th to honor Knox County’s local law enforcement. A representative from all four of the county’s departments was able to attend.

The American Heritage Girls, along with local churches, family, and friends collected items to create blessing bags for their National Day of Service. Enough items were collected to bless all 104 officers in Knox County. Each officer will receive a bag that includes granola bars, mints, gum, hard candy, mixed nuts, and snack items. Bottles of water and sports drinks were also donated to each department.

After the presentation the officers answered questions from the American Heritage Girls or Trailmen. It gave an opportunity for both troops to meet one of the local K9 officers and look at the departments’ vehicles.
