FREDERICKTOWN –  Saturday morning a 911 call was received for a vehicle and it’s driver stuck in rising floodwater in the area of Yankee Street and Darlington road in Middlebury Township.  Firefighters from the Fredericktown Community Fire District were dispatched at 8:22am to help the driver who was uninjured but sitting in rising water.  

Upon arrival to the scene, Chief Scott Mast and the crew of the rescue found the GMC Canyon off the roadway and into the ditch with water inside the cab of the truck. A dive officer wearing a water rescue suit worked from the bumper of the rescue to assist the driver of the truck to safety. The driver was checked out by EMS on scene.

 

 

 

The township was contacted to make them aware of the hazardous situation and had it blocked off. 

 

The scene was turned over to the Mount Gilead Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
