MOUNT VERNON – The Mount Vernon Arts Consortium reminds patrons to purchase tickets only through www.mvac.org or the official websites of its authorized venues and event partners.

Authorized sites include the Knox Memorial Theater, Woodward Opera House, Ariel-Foundation Park, and other participating local arts organizations.

When purchasing tickets for local performances and events, patrons should look for the official Mount Vernon Arts Partner graphics, which identify participating organizations and authorized ticketing sources.

Third-party resale websites such as SeatGeek, Vivid Seats, StubHub, GoTickets, and others frequently advertise tickets to events at local venues. These sites are not affiliated with MVAC and are not authorized ticket sellers for consortium events.

Tickets on these websites may be listed at significantly inflated prices, often with additional fees. In some cases, resellers even advertise tickets they have not yet purchased.

The arts consortium and its event partners cannot guarantee the validity of tickets purchased through unauthorized sellers or assist with refunds, exchanges, lost tickets, or other issues related to those purchases.

Resale sites can be misleading

To avoid unnecessary costs and ticketing problems, patrons are encouraged to purchase directly through official websites, verify website addresses before entering payment information, and be cautious of resale sites appearing as sponsored search results.

“We want everyone attending our events to have a great experience, and that starts with purchasing tickets,” said Samantha Turner, Mount Vernon Arts Consortium executive director.

“Third-party resale sites can be misleading, and we’ve seen tickets advertised for far more than their actual price. We encourage everyone to purchase directly through the arts consortium or our authorized partners and to look for the Mount Vernon Arts Partner graphics.”

MVAC also encourages patrons to share this information with friends and family, especially those purchasing tickets as gifts or attending a local performance for the first time.

For official tickets, event information, or box office assistance, visit www.mvac.org, call 740-462-2478, or stop by the arts consortium office at 214 S. Main St. Office hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
