The OneOhio Recovery Foundation is a nonprofit, charitable organization created at the direction of Ohio’s state and local leaders to distribute 55 percent of the funds our state will receive from the pharmaceutical industry as a consequence of its role in the national opioid epidemic.

MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County commissioners, in partnership with the Knox OneOhio Advisory Workgroup, announce a second round of funding is now open through the Knox County OneOhio Grant Program.

Statewide opioid settlement dollars support the grant. The program funds efforts that prevent, treat, and promote recovery from addiction. That includes opioid use, co-occurring substance use, and mental health conditions.

In this second round, the commissioners continue to seek evidence-based or proven projects that support children and families as they heal from the effects of addiction. Projects may focus on helping families navigate system resources, providing grief and trauma supports, or other innovative strategies that pair creativity with meaningful outcomes.

The Expression of Intent (EOI) Form is due Friday, Nov.13. Full applications are due Nov. 20. Both forms are available at https://www.knoxcf.org/apply-for-a-grant/.

Although applications are submitted through Knox County Foundation’s grant portal, all funding comes directly from the Knox County commissioners. Organizations selected for awards will receive their grants from the commissioners.

Grant application criteria

Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, public charities as defined by the IRS, and government agencies. Grants cover a 12-month period.

Recipients will submit a semi-annual report with budget and narrative updates. Complete guidelines and criteria are included with the application materials.

“Addiction touches families across every part of Knox County, and local organizations are often the ones best positioned to help them heal,” the Knox County Commissioners said. “We encourage nonprofits and agencies with strong ideas for supporting children and families to apply for this second round of funding.”
