MOUNT VERNON — The Food For The Hungry (FFTH) of Knox County’s grant application process for the 2025 campaign opens Thursday, Oct. 1, at 8 a.m. and will remain open until Saturday, Oct. 31, at noon.
Applications submitted after noon on Oct. 31 will not be accepted.
Each year, a portion of the funds raised during the FFTH Winter Drive is allocated to the Winter Grant recipients. The 2025 FFTH Drive raised $394,301.89. The Winter Grant recipients are non-profit groups in Knox County that distribute food to those in need.
Primary consideration is given to food pantries and hot meals programs, with secondary consideration to other entities filling a food insecurity gap. Grants are awarded based on the number of people being served, the number of monthly volunteers involved, and other factors detailed in the application.
The grant application is located at www.FoodForTheHungryCares.org. The application information can be found on the home page or under the ‘Who We Help’ tab.
Applications are due by Saturday, Oct. 31 at noon. Grant awardees will be notified by mid-November.
Grant recipients will be highlighted during Food For The Hungry LIVE – a live-stream and radio broadcast — on Friday, Dec. 11 at the Memorial Theater inside the Knox Memorial.
