Nicholas J. “Nick” Grosscup, age 38, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital.
He was born on December 25, 1987, he is the beloved son of Bryan and Gina Grosscup.
Nick was a man who loved deeply and was deeply loved. He had a huge heart, an unforgettable personality, and a way of forming friendships that became more like family. Those who truly knew Nick knew his loyalty, his humor, his strength, and the love he carried for the people who mattered most to him.
Nick proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, an experience that remained an important part of who he was. The brotherhood he found in the Marines stayed with him throughout his life, and he treasured those relationships, particularly his friendship with fellow Marine Michael Benson. He also treasured his lifelong friendship with Drew Jacob, who was more like a brother to him.
Nick was incredibly tech savvy and had a genuine passion for telecommunications and electrical engineering. He had an inquisitive mind and a natural ability to understand how things worked. He loved technology, enjoyed solving complicated problems, and took great pride in his knowledge and abilities. It was more than simply a career for Nick—it was something that fascinated him and gave him a sense of accomplishment.
But the most important parts of Nick’s life could never be measured by a job title or an accomplishment. Nick loved his family fiercely. Britany was his wife, his love, and his girl. The two of them shared a very special love and a connection that was uniquely theirs. She held a special place in Nick’s heart that will be there forever. He adored his children, Zane and Zaida, and the love he had for them was immeasurable. Being their father was an important part of who he was. Nick loved traveling and vacationing with his family, and some of their happiest memories were made on the adventures they shared together.
Nick also shared a special bond with his younger brother, Luke. Thirteen years separated them in age, but never in heart. Nick loved Luke dearly.
Nick shared a special relationship with his dad, Bryan. The time they spent together over the years brought so many moments of laughter and fun. They could joke, tease each other, and sometimes simply dissolve into giggles together. There was a lot of life lived between a father and his son, and through all of it, there was a deep and enduring love. Those moments of laughter, the fun they had together, and the memories only the two of them shared will always be treasured.
Nick and his mom, Gina, shared a bond that could never be broken. Their love for one another is difficult to put into words because there simply aren’t words big enough to describe it. Through every season of Nick’s life, theirs was a love that endured—fierce, unconditional, and unwavering. They shared countless conversations, laughter, tears, and moments that only a mother and son could fully understand. Nick knew how deeply his mom loved him, and she knew how deeply he loved her. That bond did not end with Nick’s passing. It is a love she will carry with her always.
Nick was a believer in Jesus Christ, and his faith became an especially meaningful part of his life. During this last year, he and his mom shared many conversations about God, faith, grace, and what it means to trust in Him. Nick had a deep and sincere faith in God and a commitment to Christ that brought meaning and hope to his life. For those who loved him, there is comfort in knowing that Nick knew the Lord and that his story does not end here.
To the people closest to him, Nick wasn’t just one thing. He was a beloved son, a husband, a father, a big brother, a Marine, a believer in Christ, and a fiercely loyal friend.
Nick’s life had many chapters, and his family will remember the whole of him—the little boy they raised, the young man he became, the husband and father who loved his family, the big brother, the Marine, and the loyal friend so many people considered family. Above all, they will remember Nick’s enormous capacity to love.
They will remember his laughter, his personality, his struggles and triumphs, and all of the ordinary moments that now mean so much.
Nick will be missed beyond what words can express. His life mattered. He was loved beyond measure. And while those who love him grieve his absence here, they do so with the hope that comes from his faith in Christ and the promise that this goodbye is not forever.
Nick is survived by his parents; wife, Britany Grosscup; two children, Zane Rose and Zaida Khalil; brother, Luke Grosscup; paternal grandmother, Betty J. Grosscup; uncles, James (Teresa) Witten, William E. Grosscup Jr., Barry (Sharon) Grosscup; along with many extended family members and close friends.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, James and Shirley Witten, paternal grandfather, William E. Grosscup, and two uncles, Brad and Bruce Grosscup.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, from 1:00 – 2:30 PM at Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Rd in Mount Vernon. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 PM.
