John Eugene Prinkey, 79, of Dublin, OH passed away peacefully September 18th, after a year-long battle with cancer.
John, a beloved father and grandfather, will be remembered for his sense of adventure. A proud Vietnam veteran, he was awarded two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star for his bravery in combat.
After his service, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of farming. He retired as an accountant, and spent his retirement days fishing beautiful lakes and chasing waterfalls in Tennessee.
Born April 19th, 1947 to Gladyce and Harold Prinkey in Connelsville PA, he is preceded in death by his Mother, Father, sister Linda Brink, granddaughter Terri Ann Prinkey, Brother-in-law Craig Powell, and Sister-in-law Kay Prinkey. He is survived by his children Shad (Donna) Prinkey, Deb (Scott) Brooks, Elizabeth Prinkey, Monica Prinkey, grandchildren Jennie Beth, Maggie Mae, Bella, and Redgy, great grandchildren, Kaytee, Spirit, and Saint, Siblings Carol Powell, and Ross Prinkey.
Throughout his life, he shared his passion for euchre, agriculture, bowling, dancing and having fun with family and friends. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
Please join the family for a memorial service to celebrate his life on Saturday, September 26 at Snyder Flowers funeral home at 619 East High Street in Mt. Vernon, OH. Visitation will take place from 2-4 pm with service to follow. The family invites all who knew him to attend.
