John Edward Bolton, age 70, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. He was born on June 8, 1956, in Sunbury, Ohio, to the late William and Francis (Schimpf) Bolton.
John attended Big Walnut High School in Sunbury, Ohio. He worked at United Precast Inc. in Mount Vernon and worked for Local 207 in Construction. John attended Central Christian Church in Mount Vernon. In his free time John enjoyed fishing and woodworking, most of all he loved being around his family.
John is survived by his wife, Kathy E. (White) Bolton; children, John Bolton Jr, James Cooper, Wessie (Brandon) Loraine, Debbie Slack, Ashley Cooper; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Walls, Shirley (Dave) Hallor, Mary Richet, Barb (Bill) Grubaugh; sister-in-law, Kathy Bolton; numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, John is preceded in death by his brothers, Joe Bolton and Bill Bolton; and a sister, Joyce Swint.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 10 am until 12 pm at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home; 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio, 43050.
