William “Bill” G. Coe , age 78, of Centerburg, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 19th, at his home.
Bill served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War with the 5th Special Forces, achieving the rank of E-5. His hobbies included fishing at Lake Erie, mushroom hunting, and cooking, especially for family and friends and for the Head Start Preschool cook-offs. He loved telling jokes and never met a stranger; everyone became a friend to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Inez and Charles Babe Coe; his sisters, Dena Butler and Earlene Cunningham; his nieces and nephews, Cheryl, Shelly, Dick, and Bill; and his daughter, Miranda.
He is survived by his loving wife, Hazel; his children, Jason and his children, Trent(Paige) and Grace, along with his great-granddaughter, Hatteras; Tina; Ike(Cori); Katrina; and Samantha (William).
He is also survived by many grandchildren, including the five grandchildren he and Hazel lovingly raised as their own: Kane, Anthony, Makyaha, Gage, and Rainee. Each held a special place in his heart, and he was proud to be a part of their lives.
He also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will forever remember his humor, stubborn spirit, love of telling jokes, and the love he had for his family.
Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the life of Bill on Friday, September 25th. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Johnson-Melick-Moreland Funeral Home, located at 49 Church Street, Centerburg, OH 43011. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m.
Following the services, friends and family are invited to join together for a dinner in Bills memory and to share stories, laughter, and memories while celebrating his life.
