Ruth E. Doup, age 92, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026.
She was born on February 11, 1934, in Mount Vernon to the late LeRoy and Lena (Sesser) Fish.
Ruth was longtime farm wife that was very fond of her animals, including her sheep, pigs, and cattle. She was a lifelong member of Ebenezer Methodist Church. Most of all she will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Ruth is survived by her sons, David Doup and Curtis (Sheri) Doup; two grandchildren, Stuart and Geordan Doup; five great-grandchildren; along with three nieces, Susie, Connie and Peggy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Chick” Doup, sister, Retha Barton and a brother, Wilmer Fish.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon at Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Rd in Mount Vernon. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 PM. Burial will be in Amity Cemetery.
Friends and family are invited back to the Ebenezer Church Fellowship Hall after the graveside for food and fellowship.
