MOUNT VERNON— The Knox County Convention & Visitors Bureau (KCCVB) has released its first-ever Knox County College Guide.

The guide is designed to connect local college students with the dining, shopping, and recreational experiences available throughout the community.

Tailored specifically to the student populations of Kenyon College in Gambier and Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) in Mount Vernon, each guide was curated directly by student interns attending the respective institutions.

This student-led approach ensures that recommendations highlight genuine student favorites, ranging from top-tier local coffee shops and budget-friendly dining to scenic trail escapes, vintage thrifting, and study-friendly spots off campus.

Distribution of the new guides kicked off during move-in week across both campuses. New students and returning students received custom bookmarks styled like classic composition notebooks, each featuring a QR code leading directly to the digital edition of their campus-specific guide.

“We want students to feel genuinely at home in Knox County from the moment they arrive on campus,” said Olivia Toth, executive director of the Knox County Convention & Visitors Bureau.

“By partnering directly with interns at Kenyon and MVNU, we created an authentic insider’s field guide, built by students, for students. It not only helps students explore outside their campus bubbles, but their research and perspectives provide us with new insights for future projects.”

In addition to day-to-day student essentials, the digital guides feature parent-approved recommendations for local lodging, family dining, and seasonal attractions, making it a shareable piece for visiting families during campus events, family weekends, and commencement.
