Fire hydrant flushes into the street
Fire hydrant flushing is coming up in the community.

MOUNT VERNON — The Mount Vernon Fire Department will conduct annual hydrant flushing in the southern half of the city between Sept. 1 and Sept. 30.

The flushing is scheduled to begin around 8 a.m and will conclude by 4 p.m Monday through Friday.

Please refrain from using your washing machine to launder your clothing during the above mentioned times. Sudden drops in water pressure may be noted, but should correct themselves after a few short minutes.

Any resident who experiences very low pressure or is temporarily without water should call the Mount Vernon Water Office at 740-393-9504 immediately.

September 1 – 4 grid: G8
September 7 – 11 grids: G9, G10, G11, G12
September 14 – 18 grids: H8, H9, I9
September 21 – 25 grids: J9, H10, I10, I11
September 28 – 30 If needed
