MOUNT VERNON — Legal Aid of Southeast and Central Ohio (LASCO) will offer a series
of free legal advice clinics in Knox County this fall.
The clinics give eligible residents an opportunity to speak one-on-one with an attorney about common civil legal issues.
The clinics will be held between 1 and 3 p.m. on Sept. 8, Oct. 13 and Nov. 10. They will be held at OhioMeansJobs–Knox County, 17604 Coshocton Road.
Attorneys will be available to answer questions related to landlord-tenant matters, public benefits, consumer issues, expungement and record sealing, family law and probate. The monthly clinics cannot assist with criminal or traffic cases.
LASCO is also offering a one-time Record Sealing and Expungement Clinic on Friday, Sept. 11, at OhioMeansJobs–Knox County.

Knox County residents interested in making an appointment should call 614-827-0505 to be screened for services. The clinics are available to low-income Knox County residents who meet Legal Aid’s eligibility guidelines.
Attorneys will provide legal advice but will not attend court with clinic participants.
“When a legal issue affects your home, family, benefits or finances, getting clear answers can help you understand your options,” said William Canterberry, who manages LASCO’s Newark office. “By offering a clinic in Knox County, we hope to make it easier for residents to understand their rights and determine what steps they can take to address their legal issues.”
