HOWARD: Eric Gene Carpenter, 52, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, following a UTV accident.

He was born on November 3, 1973, in Mt. Vernon to parents Gary & Susie (Hindman) Carpenter. Eric graduated from Mt. Vernon High School with the class of 1992. He married the love of his life, Nicole Frazee, on August 27, 1994, and the couple shared 32 years of marriage together.

Eric worked for Ariel Corporation in Mt. Vernon, where he had been employed for the past 17 years.

Eric dreamed big and found joy in the simple things in life. He always dreamed of farming and having cows of his own, and he had a natural talent for working with his hands. A true jack of all trades, Eric could fix just about anything, and if he didn’t know how to fix something, he knew someone who did. He was generous with his time, talents, and resources and was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and anyone in need.

His poodles were his faithful companions on his morning and evening UTV rides, sharing in one of his favorite ways to enjoy the outdoors. While working at Ariel, one of Eric’s friends introduced him to beekeeping, a hobby he had happily taken up over the past year. He treasured time spent with his family, especially their annual trips to Cedar Point. This past June, he took his first beach vacation with his family to Myrtle Beach, creating memories they will cherish forever.

Eric was incredibly supportive of his children and took great pride in being a grandfather. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he cherished the time he spent with them. Above all, Eric faced life’s challenges with determination and never hesitated to do whatever was needed to help the people he loved.

He is survived by his wife, Nicole Carpenter; his sons, Brent (Jasmine) Carpenter and Brandon (Abby) Carpenter; his grandchildren, D’Shawn Gene and Mia Michelle Carpenter; his brother, Jason (Amber) Carpenter; his nephew, Tyler Carpenter; his father-in-law, Randy Frazee; his uncle, Perry Carpenter; and his aunt, Diane McFadden.

In addition to his parents, Eric was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Barbara Jean “Jeannie” Frazee.

The Carpenter family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Snyder Funeral Home- Lindsey Chapel, Loudonville. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m., with Pastor John Temple officiating.
