Susan Linette McDowell, age 59, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon, Ohio. She was born on October 7, 1966, in East Liverpool, Ohio, to the late Paul and Thelma (Edgell) Headley.
Susan formally worked for AMG Industries in Mount Vernon in office administration. She was a former member of the Wellsville Christian Church. Susan enjoyed fishing with her husband James, watching sports, being a seamstress and most all being around her loving family.
Susan is survived by her husband, James McDowell, whom she married on October 27, 1989; daughters, Katie (Nathan Ali) Beckholt, Brianna (Joe) Remy, Lilly (Noah Zoldak) McDowell; 7 grandchildren, Ari, J.P., Dameon, Natalie, Jenson, Rorry, Marcy; a brother, Robert (Kristie) Headley; and sister, Lynn (Mike) Payne.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
