MOUNT VERNON — Day one of the 2026 Mount Vernon Music & Arts Festival kicked off Friday night with live music, a flower show and plenty of fair food options.
The weather held out as festivalgoers made their way downtown to enjoy musical performances and check out local vendors.
Performances by Landon Ross and Chris Petee took over the South Stage and family-friendly activities covered South Main Street. Kids were able to enjoy appearances by Belle and Snow White, bouncy houses and more.
The Flower Show at The Living Center offered another highlight of the afternoon, showcasing the work of residents around the city.
Over on the Main Stage, Phil Dirt & The Dozers returned. The band took the crowd on a journey through America’s classic Rock ‘n’ Roll, encouraging audience participation along the way.
The night capped off with a nostalgic, toe-tapping performance by Forever Seger – The Silver Bullet Experience. Kevin Reid’s lead vocals had members of the the crowd up on their feet as the group paid tribute to Bob Seger.
Tonight’s activities will include a performance by Preston Cooper at 8:30 p.m. on the Main Stage, with opener Six One Five Collective taking the stage at 6:30 p.m.
