MOUNT VERNON — The residents at Pine Hill Independent Living, on the campus of The Ohio Eastern Star Home, recently put their hands to work to be part of a local community effort.
Residents gathered to sort books the Kiwanis Club of Mount Vernon collected to benefit the newly built Salvation Army Day Care Center in Mount Vernon. They sorted them by grade level.
From picture books to early readers and beyond, these books will help fill little hands with stories, imagination, and opportunities to learn. This is an example of how the community comes together to make a difference, one book at a time.
Working together, the Kiwanis members and Pine Hill residents are building a brighter future for the children in the community.
