CENTERBURG — The Village of Centerburg, in partnership with the Heart of Ohio Trail Friends, has been awarded $135,000 through the Ohio Capital Budget for the Heart of Ohio Trailheads Project.
Heart of Ohio Trail Friends member Gloria Parsisson said the investment moves the group forward in adding to HOOT trailheads that will serve the community, enhance outdoor recreation, welcome visitors, and support local businesses.
She noted that, like the new playground, the trail head project is another example of what can be accomplished when a community comes together around a shared vision.
“This multifaceted project would not be possible without the support and partnership of so many people and organizations,” Parsisson said. “We extend our sincere gratitude to the Knox County Foundation, the Knox County Commissioners, our generous community members and donors, and our many local partners who have helped shape and advance this project.
“We especially want to thank State Sen. Andrew Brenner and State Rep. Beth Lear for their support of this funding request and their commitment to strengthening rural communities.”
