MOUNT VERNON — The Knox Memorial Theater will hold auditions for its holiday production of White Christmas on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Callbacks, by invitation only, will be held Sunday, Aug. 2, from 1 to 4 p.m.
The Broadway musical features classic Irving Berlin songs including “Blue Skies,” “Sisters,” “Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep,” “I Love a Piano,” and “White Christmas.”
Ian Fraser Ernsberger will direct the production, with music direction by Christa Brady and choreography by Anthony Ingham.
Auditions are open to performers ages 16 and older, with the exception of those auditioning for the role of Susan Waverly. The production is seeking singers, dancers, and actors for a large cast of principal and ensemble roles.
Those auditioning should prepare approximately 32 bars (about one minute) of a Golden Age musical theatre song and bring clearly marked sheet music for the accompanist. A short musical theatre dance combination will also be taught during auditions.
Performers interested in featured dance roles are encouraged to bring tap shoes, though tap experience is not required for all roles.
Rehearsals begin Sept. 17 and will be scheduled based on cast availability. Performances will take place Nov. 27–29 at the Knox Memorial Theater.
Performers are encouraged to sign up for an audition time in advance, although walk-ins are welcome as time allows. Anyone unable to attend may contact operations@mvac.org to arrange a video audition.
Complete audition information, available roles, and the audition sign-up are available at www.mvac.org/white-christmas-auditions.
