MOUNT VERNON — A Knox County grand jury indicted a Mount Vernon man on Monday for illegally conveying drugs onto the grounds of a detention facility and aggravated trafficking in drugs, both third-degree felonies.

Treton A. Flack, 30, of Mount Vernon allegedly brought 5.24 grams of methamphetamine onto the grounds of Knox County Jail on or around June 29 with the intent to ship, transport, deliver or distribute the product. He forfeited $266 gained from selling the methamphetamine.

The grand jury also indicted Flack on one count each of tampering with evidence for concealing drugs on his person and having weapons while under disability for the alleged possession of a .38 Special Smith and Wesson Revolver.

Both charges are third-degree felonies.

Flack is not allowed to possess firearms due to a prior drug conviction in March 2017.

A grand jury indicted nine other individuals in its July 13 session.

Ryan L. Cooper, of Howard, one count of trespass in a habitation when a person is present or likely to be present, a fourth-degree felony.

Benjamen A. Miller, of Mount Vernon, one count of aggravated possession of drugs, methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony. Miller allegedly had a Diamondback AM 9mm semi-auto pistol while committing the offense.

Gregory L. Branstool, of Mount Vernon, one count of having weapons while under disability, one sawed-off shotgun, a third-degree felony, and one count of unlawful possession of a dangerous ordinance, one sawed-off shotgun, a fifth-degree felony.

Lindsey N. Day, of Mount Vernon, one count of aggravated possession of drugs, methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony, one count of possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, and one count of possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a fifth-degree felony.

Brandy S. Orndorff, homeless, one count of tampering with evidence, ingesting methamphetamine, a third-degree felony, and one count of aggravated possession of drugs, methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony.

Miranda E. F. Weller, of Fredericktown, one count of aggravated possession of drugs, methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony.

Earl E. Shoults, of Mount Vernon, one count of aggravated possession of drugs, methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony.

Jefferyca J. Jackson, of Mount Vernon, one count of aggravated possession of drugs, methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony.

Hunter T. Strong, of Bellville, one count of aggravated possession of drugs, methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony.
