FREDERICKTOWN — A mid-afternoon shower curtailed Fourth of July activities in Fredericktown, but likely for only a bit.

Rain accompanied by lightening emptied the softball fields and swimmers vacated Sockman Lake.

Side Effects provided entertainment starting at 2 p.m. Visitors browsed a vendors’ market from 10 am to 3 pm.

The day-long celebration included food trucks, games and entertainment by WMVQ Radio, live music by Broken Spokes, and fireworks.
