Harold J. Snively passed away at home with his family by his side on June 13, 2026, at the age of 90.7 (his response to his age). He was born November 2, 1935, to the late Paul and Virginia (Banbury) Snively.
Harold was a 1953 graduate of Danville High School and served four years (1956-1960) in the United States Air Force. He worked 35 years in the Entronic Controls Department of Cooper Energy Services. In addition, he volunteered for 24 years on the Harrison Township Zoning Commission.
He has served the Lord faithfully over the past 57 years in various ways. Known as the man in the shirt and tie, he served joyfully as the greeter on Sunday mornings at Central Christian Church.
Harold is survived by Rosella Frye Snow Snively, his wife of 57 years; son, Michael (Pam) Snow; daughter, Julie (Sean) Ries; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, brothers Larry Snively and Ronald Snively (Linda). In addition to parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Doris Snively.
There will be no visitation hours. A service will be held at the Central Christian Church (no receiving line) at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, followed by a brief grave side service at Union Grove Cemetery, Gambier. The Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel is handling the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Central Christian Church Building Fund (17833 Gambier Rd, Mount Vernon, OH 43050) or Round Lake Christian Camp (114 OH-3, Lakeville OH 44638).
