MOUNT VERNON — The fifth edition of The Washington Forum is slated for Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at The Gathering Place, 425 S. Edgewood Road.
The theme is “Home of the Brave: Stories of Heroes Next Door” and will spotlight the courage, resiliency, and service of the everyday heroes who protect and care for the community.
Hear from representatives of the Mount Vernon police and fire departments, the Mount Vernon Association of Police Chaplains, Knox Public Health, and other frontline leaders as they share stories of sacrifice, strength, and hope.
The Washington Forum is a yearlong civic engagement series presented by the City of Mount Vernon in partnership with Kenyon College’s Center for the Study of American Democracy as part of the city’s America 250 programming.
