MOUNT VERNON — The Mount Vernon Community Band is once again heading to the beautiful Ariel Park for a summer performance.
The band will be meeting at the Park National Bank Pavilion inside Ariel Park on June 7 at 4 p.m. and will be going on a musical journey through space and time.
We start at your sofa, watching “Frozen,” head across the U.S. to the Pacific Northwest, cross the ocean to Spain and France, head to outer space through the solar system, and then off we go to Oz and beyond.
What is a road trip without at least one stop for ice cream? Luckily for us, Round Hill Dairy has agreed, and they will be there to provide our ice cream needs. (And it is a need!)
This is a free concert and should run about an hour. The community band hopes you’ll come out to support local artists, local business, and enjoy nature with us.
About the Mount Vernon Community Band
The community band is an ever-growing group of musicians from Knox, Licking, Morrow, and Richland counties. The group is currently around 55 members strong, and has musicians that range from novice to professional and everything in between.
The group meets once a week and performs a wide variety of music at various venues throughout the year including nursing homes, the Woodward Opera House, First Fridays, and more.
This group is open to the public, and encourages anyone who has played music in the past to pick up their instrument, dust them off, and start playing again.
