Brian K. Wynkoop, 81, of Mount Vernon died on Sunday morning, May 17, 2026 at the Country Court Nursing Center in Mount Vernon. He was born on February 9, 1945 in Mount Vernon to the late Richard E. and Helen I. (Nowels) Wynkoop.
Brian owned and operated Wynkoop Airport in Mount Vernon. He was a pilot for many years and had a love for aviation and fellow pilots. Brian graciously hosted several events at the airport, including the National WACO Club reunion for many years. He made many lifelong friends through the airport and will be missed by all. Brian was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Mount Vernon.
Brian is survived by cousin, Mildred Eberwine; and first cousins, Carol Cain, Marcia Eberwine, Ruth Eberwine, and Barbara Batterham.
In addition to his parents, Brian was preceded in death by an infant brother, David.
Visitation for Brian will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026 from 12 p.m. until the time of a funeral service at 1 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Dowds Chapel, 201 Newark Rd., Mount Vernon. Burial will follow in Mound View Cemetery.
