Richard “Dick” Weaver
May 19, 1946 – May 14, 2026

Richard “Dick” William Weaver, 79, of Howard, Ohio passed away Thursday afternoon, May 14, 2026 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.

He was born May 19, 1946 in Findlay, Ohio to the late William “Bill” and Merna (Herbert) Weaver. He grew up in rural Hoytville, Jackson Township, Ohio and attended the Hoytville United Methodist Church. He graduated in 1964 from McComb High School. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1966-1970. Upon being honorable discharged, he attended the Ohio Institute of Technology. Dick would become a controls engineer and work for over 34 years with Rolls-Royce Energy Services, retiring in 2013.

Dick enjoyed doing many things in his free time and remained active after retiring. Golfing was the most fun and he enjoyed it with his friends in the Apple Valley Seniors Golf League. He was particularly proud to have a hole-in-one at Deer Ridge Golf Club, Bellville, Ohio. His hobbies included woodworking, fixing many things and being a faithful and true fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes Football.

On December 23, 1990 he married Kathryn A. (Blair) Ridenour in Mt. Vernon, Ohio and they just celebrated their 35th Wedding Anniversary last year.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Blair-Weaver; 4 children, Debra (Bernard) Gyamfi; Linda (Richard) Comiskey; David Ridenour; Jessica (Erik Daehler) Ridenour; 6 grandchildren, Samuel; Hannah; Issac; Levi (Elissa); Orion; Juna; sister, Barbara Petersen, sister-in-law, Pam Weaver; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by two older brothers, Jacob “Jake” Weaver and Gene Weaver.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler with Pastor Jen Miller officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. prior to the services in the funeral home. Graveside services with military honors will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler.

The family suggests memorials to a local humane society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
