MOUNT VERNON — The Kokosing Valley Arts Alliance (KVAA), in partnership with the Knox County Convention & Visitors Bureau (KCCVB), announces Art at the Park, a community art competition and exhibition set to take place at the CA&C Visitor Center.

Designed to celebrate local creativity, Art at the Park invites artists of all skill levels (and ages) to submit works across multiple categories, including Multimedia, 3-D, and 2-D. The event aims to activate one of the county’s most historic landmarks while providing a platform for local talent to showcase their talents.

The official call for art begins April 20 and runs through May 20. Following the submission period, a curated selection of works will be displayed during a public exhibition from July 10 to Aug. 14. Visitors can participate in the “Community Choice” award, voting for their favorite pieces throughout the summer.

“We are incredibly excited to bring the community together through this collaboration,” said Jeff Williams of the Kokosing Valley Arts Alliance. “Art at the Park is about more than just a competition. It’s about highlighting the incredible depth of talent we have here and giving artists a dedicated space to share their stories with neighbors and visitors alike.”

The Knox County CVB views the event as a cornerstone of the summer season, blending cultural heritage with local tourism. By hosting the exhibition at the CA&C Visitor Center— a hub for travelers and trail-users — Art at the Park offers an accessible, family-friendly way to engage with the local arts scene.

In addition to the KVAA and the Knox County CVB, Kudos Artist Co-Op, The Coleman Gallery, Gallery on Gambier, Pine Row Studio, The Schnormeier Gallery and The Annex support the event.
